The Challenge of our Technology
TCP/IP protocol - Great protocol - low efficiency for data delivery
The TCP/IP is the protocol that handles data transfer over the web. It is widely adopted and does a great job delivering packets of data to their destinations in a very scalable way. Like anything else it is not free of flaws. Its most important flaw is its low efficiency when it comes to data delivery. A slow server, busy path, congested area, to name a few, will all impact the delivery speed and efficiency some times in a dramatic a way.
Perhaps the most vivid indication of this flaw is the fact Internet Service Providers keep selling us ultra high speed connections, but downloading still takes too long and watching a smooth HD video stream is not really happening...
The reason lies in the way the internet is built. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link and a data transfer session is only as fast as the slowest route along the way between the source and the destination.
SpeedBit patented multi channel technology bypasses and overcomes such slowing factors by initiating and managing several simultaneous connections, downloading different parts of the requested file simultaneously, from one or more servers and then building the file up.
This way, users are finally allowed to actually reach the bandwidth they paid for in the first place.
Generic vs. proprietary - Is it possible to get the performance without replacing the TCP/IP?
Through the years there were different attempts by different entities to improved the efficiency of data delivery on the Web. Solutions usually evolved around the creation of a new protocol to replace TCP/IP between the source point and the destination point. Those type of solutions never really solved the problem of the Web, they may have solved a unique situation between a specific service/site and its users, but data delivery on the Web still remained inefficient.
SpeedBit came with a different approach - keeping TCP/IP as it is, and providing an acceleration engine that works on top of TCP/IP to maximize the data delivery efficiency.
This way a user using the SpeedBit accelerator engine will be able to get fastest possible delivery speeds from any standard TCP/IP or Flash server on the web.
This SpeedBit technology, exceeding 160 million installs to date, has won SpeedBit the 2008 Technology Pioneer award by the World Economic Forum.
SpeedBit technology is patented.
Platforms - Personal computers, Cellular phones, Game Consoles, TV set top boxes
TCP/IP plays a growing role in data delivery of more and more platforms beyond the personal computer. People are using their mobile phones to access the web rich media sites, game consoles allow for Web access for content delivery directly to the console, even TV Set Top boxes now access the Web for acquiring content, and the list goes on. Everybody want to be online on any platform and access the Web content.
SpeedBit technology accelerates data delivery regardless of the platform its running on.
SpeedBit is now in the process of engaging with leading global platform players to incorporate the SpeedBit acceleration engine on additional platforms, among them:
- Cellular phones - tests conducted by a partner over Wi-Max delivered 3 times delivery speeds.
- Cellular (3.5G) modems - tests conducted by a partner in the US over top tier Telco cellular network showed a 3 times consistent improvement in data delivery speeds.
- Game Consoles - a SpeedBit xbox 360 accelerator to be released soon.
- TV Set Top Boxes
- Media players
- etc.

Video streaming/HD
We all know the feeling when a video we watch on the web suddenly freezes, for buffering, and continues to hicup making for a very unpleasant viewing experience. SpeedBit has solved this problem with its revolutionary SpeedBit Video Accelerator which leverages the SpeedBit acceleration engine to make video streams run faster and thus smoother.
